Be In The Moment
I’ve only recently started to be more mindful…using mindfulness. Not just sat there looking at your dog and waiting for some magic to happen, but really enjoying the time to take a moment and enjoy the right now. Not thinking about what you’re going to make for tea or what time Trevor next door willbe singing on his karaoke tonight?
We spend so much of our time rushing around doing so much that we forget to just stop and take a breath. A hell of a lot of people as a result live with anxiety, stress, and unhappiness and its sadly becoming the norm. You may not even realize it, but this tendency to get sucked into the past and the future can leave you completely worn out and feeling out of touch with yourself.
So how do we be more present in the moment - how do we become more mindful? By being in the present moment, or the “here and now,” it means that we are more aware and mindful of what is happening at this very moment. We are not distracted past or worries about the future, but centred in the here and now. All of our attention is focused on the present moment. So stop - breathe and ask yourself - What can I hear? a car. Birds…kids playing outside …what can I smell? someone’s B.O on the bus :( or maybe a nice warm bagel covered in Lurpak :) so now you’re feeling hungry - and now you are in the moment! You are right here - right now.
Have a lovely mindful day
